Chronic Pain Release Therapy in Cochrane, Alberta.‍ ‍‍ ‍

A whole person approach to chronic pain.

At Beyond the Physical, I offer chronic pain release therapy for people living with persistent pain.

My approach looks beyond symptoms alone and explores how physical, emotional and nervous-system patterns may be contributing to ongoing pain, creating space for relief, healing and reconnection with your body.

What is Chronic Pain Release Therapy?

If you're here,  I’m thinking you have been searching for relief from pain that just won’t go away.

Chronic pain can be exhausting, frustrating and isolating.

It can leave you feeling like your body has turned against you, even when tests, treatments, or exercises haven’t given you the relief you hoped for.

AtBeyond the Physical, I offer chronic pain release therapy in Cochrane, Alberta

It is a whole-person approach that looks beyond symptoms alone. My work explores how

physical tension, nervous system stress, emotional strain, and long-held patterns in the body

can all contribute to persistent pain.

As a retired physiotherapist of 37 years experience..

I spent much of my career helping people understand and manage pain. Over time, that work led me to look beyond the physical body and toward a more holistic understanding of healing - one that includes the

mind-body connection, stress patterns, and the body’s own capacity to release what it has been holding.

My goal is to create a safe space

where we can gently explore what may be contributing to your pain and support your body in moving toward greater ease, calm, and healing.

Who Chronic Pain Release Therapy may help...

  • You don’t need to be certain that stress or mind-body factors are part of your pain story.

  • persistent neck, back or any joint or muscle pain

  • pain that worsens with stress or overwhelm

  • chronic tension, tightness, or nervous system dysregulation

  • symptoms that continue even after treatment or healing of the original injury

  • pain connected to long-term stress, emotional strain, or trauma held in the body.

  • We simply begin with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to listen to what your body may be holding.

What a session my look like….

Chronic pain release therapy is a gentle, guided process of listening to what your body may be holding beneath the pain.

In a session, we may use a combination of:

~ conversation and reflection about your pain experience

~ guided awareness of tension, holding, or stress in the body

~ gentle touch, when appropriate and welcome

~ deep relaxation techniques

~ breathing and mindfulness practices

During your first session, we’ll talk about your pain history, what you’ve tried, and what you’re hoping to achieve. Together we’ll gently explore how your body may be holding tension or protective patterns through breathing, mindfulness, body awareness, and, when appropriate, gentl touch. Every session is tailored to your comfort level and needs.

The focus is not on forcing change, but on helping your body feel safe enough to soften, settle, and reveal what may be contributing to ongoing pain.

Each session is different, because each person’s pain story is different. Together, we move at a pace that feels respectful, grounded and supportive.

What Chronic Pain Release Therapy is Really Exploring…

Chronic pain is not always caused by one thing alone.

Even when pain begins with an injury, strain, illness, or physical condition, the body can continue to hold patterns of tension, protection, stress, and emotional overwhelm that keep pain going.

Chronic pain release therapy explores what may be happening beneath the surface of symptoms, including:

  • areas of tension or guarding in the body

  • stress held in the nervous system

  • emotional strain that may be affecting the body’s ability to settle

  • long-standing patterns of protection, bracing, or holding

  • the relationship between pain, fear, exhaustion, and overwhelm

This is a whole-person approach to persistent pain …

one that honours the physical body, while also making space for the emotional, mental, and nervous-system aspects of healing.

“I want to help you to learn how to love and respect your body again.”

“..you are a gentle soul with powerful hands and spirit.”
